WordPress, is it the best a Man can get?

In the space of a couple of days I seem to have gone from being troubled by WordPress not allowing me full control over my website to wishing I’d never got involved with it.

As i’ve previously mentioned this site has been pushed live in a incomplete state because I was met with a brick wall in the compatibility of what wordpress seemed capable of allowing me to do and what I in fact wished to do. The issue does not even seem that large a problem, all I want is to create pages outside of the wordpress CMS and be able to control them how I wish, not have wordpress create problems with dynamic content or even using it’s rewrite rules to ignore the page.

I’m sure there is a perfectly simple solution to all this but I have yet to find one without compromising the ideas I had for the site. All this has also caused a cascade effect of issues with hosting and as such the possibility of a domain name change. I have thought about dumping WordPress altogether, however I have issues with the alternatives such as Drupal and I’m not sure if I really want to get into learning Moveable Type without knowing for sure it can solve my problems.

This has kinda left me in the position of coding the site and blog all myself. This then means I have to either recode the plugins I use or dump them altogether. At the moment I am greatly undecided as to what to do, hopefully I can come across a solution that will work for me and in the mean time I can maybe improve the design I have……again!

Google Ads

If you can see the Google Adwords acting up a bit then just ignore them. At the moment they’re a bit of an experiment to see if they will actually generate any cash but first I think they need to settle to the site… fingers crossed.

Welcome

Welcome to transfusion. This is the second time I have written this first blog post, the first time was in preparation for the launch of this blog as a greater advancement over my previous site, to include a wider range of content. However things haven’t quite gone to plan.

The form that this site takes has been in development for about 6 months if not more. The long time-frame for such little outcome is due to having to fit it around a job, socialising and relaxing, and then there’s the times I just couldn’t be bothered. However the development got a kick start when I registered for the FOWD London Conference. I felt that I couldn’t go and have the possibility of people asking me about my website and having my previous site to show when it does not reflect my abilities.
