MediaTemple Hosting

Careful! This post is looking a little old and could be inaccurate in many, many ways

Now this website is live I’ve had to look into an alternative hosting solution on which to develop the site away from prying eyes and search engines. My current hosts limit the number of domains, sub-domains and databases I could use and although I have no issues with my current hosts I felt maybe it was time for a change.

For months MediaTemple had been on my radar as a possible host for the future that offered great services for a fair price. So I’m now signed up and on first impressions the guys and gals at media temple have done an awesome job. The features are awesome, including features that most hosts wouldn’t provide unless you had dedicated hosting. I can now host a hundred sites if I wish all with databases and uniquely configured settings. The interface is easy to use unlike so many other hosts I have come across. At the moment this site remains with my old hosts but eventually when the next phase is completed it will move on.

My only disappointment is that I have not yet been able to work out how to change my admin password from the at present forgettable default one they emailed me. This might be good for security but the opportunity to change it would be nice. As complaints go it’s a pretty small one, so if you don’t mind spending a little more to get alot more then MediaTemple are the guys to go for.

I have managed to find where you can change the password, on reflection it isn’t so hidden, so I’m not too sure how I missed it.
